About the Exhibition:

The Art of Action is the result of a partnership between the Vermont Arts Council, visionary philanthropist Lyman Orton and Janice Izzi. Ten visual artists commissioned for the project tackle issues relating to Vermont’s social, cultural, and environmental challenges, including agriculture and landscape, energy, the economy and the strength and unity of Vermont communities. The forty-plus pieces of artwork are designed to inspire Vermonters to act toward attaining their vision for the future of our state. Read more about Art of Action.

The Exhibition Venue:

This groundbreaking art exhibition will be in Waterbury for the first two weeks of April and we encourage you to experience it! The Waterbury American Legion Post 59 generously is providing a home to the Exhibition on the first floor of their handicapped accessible 16 Stowe Street location in downtown Waterbury.

Art of Action in Waterbury:

When Waterbury hosts the Exhibition we will have an opportunity to come together, share an experience and exchange our thoughts on the future of Vermont and of Waterbury.

A schedule of public events associated with the Art of Action offers a wide range of fun, educational and interactive experiences for people of all ages. In addition to these activities, the artwork can be enjoyed during designated public hours and special arrangements have been made to encourage students and seniors to view the art.

Be a part of this unique statewide project. Come discover, discuss and celebrate how we look to our future.
