Get Involved
Revitalizing Waterbury’s efforts and accomplishments are directly related to people-power and partnerships. There are many ways to support RW’s revitalization work:
- RW is a membership based non-profit organization. Annual membership dues is a very important source of revenue for our general operating budget. There are three types of membership:
Individual/Family $35
Senior $10
Business (membership categories range from $50 to $1000)
Members receive News & Notes, e-updates on special events & downtown news and are invited to our March Annual Meeting & Pot-luck.

- Join one of RW’s four committees – Design, Economic Development, Marketing & Promotion and Organization. Each committee meets once a month for approximately 1.5 hours. Collectively these committees chart out and implement a successful downtown revitalization strategy. Click HERE for our March 2011 RW Fact Sheet to learn more about what our committees focus on and their projects.
- Join the RW board. The RW board meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. for approximately 1.5 hours at Thatcher Brook Primary School. Our meetings are open to the public and we encourage individuals who are interested in joining our board to attend a few of these meetings. The RW board is comprised of specialists and generalists, visionaries and doers and leaders and behind-the-scenes worker bees. RW is currently seeking one or two new board members to join in 2011. For more information contact MK Monley.
- Add your name to the RW volunteer roster. We have lots of activities, events and projects that are ‘hands-on’ and are a limited time commitment. Help sell tickets at an event, put up posters around Waterbury, stuff envelopes, ‘green up’ a specific downtown location, plant up summer barrels, and so on. Give back to your community and make new friends. Contact Jeanne Kirby if you are interested in being an ‘on call’ RW volunteer.
